Each evening, Ellen settles into her favorite chair with a Meals on Wheels lunch and her loyal dog, Little One, nestled at her feet. It’s a comforting routine—made possible by your compassion.
Ellen is legally blind and unable to use the stove safely. She counts on Meals on Wheels New Mexico for nutritious meals she can enjoy with peace of mind. “I eat the meals in the evening while I watch TV,” she says. “I like all of them—but I really like the enchiladas!”
Beyond the food, your support also helps Ellen care for Little One through the Pet Pals program. “The mobile vet came to give her shots, and during the check-up they found something I never would’ve known about,” Ellen says. “They treated it right away. That made all the difference.”
Little One became Ellen’s constant companion after the loss of her husband three years ago. “She makes me laugh,” Ellen shared. “She even talks back when I talk to her!”
