Meals on Wheels New Mexico is the only home delivered meals program in New Mexico that serves eight medically tailored diets to anyone, of any age, for any reason. Our meals are dietician reviewed to ensure they meet our clients’ clinical needs (see details on the Diet and Accommodations tab).

We have no age, income, or health requirements for program qualification.

We offer hot or frozen lunches as well as breakfast and dinner options.

Our Hot lunch Includes:

  • One entrée
  • One or two sides (depending on diet type)
  • Salad or fruit
  • Dessert
  • Milk (optional)

Frozen lunch includes:

  • One entrée
  • One or two sides (depending on diet type)

Breakfast and lunch options are available as an add-on service for hot meal clients. Breakfast includes a chilled main dish such as an omelet, pancakes with butter and syrup, assorted cereals with milk, yogurt and granola, etc. Dinner includes a sandwich (such as Chicken Waldorf, Ham and Cheese, Tuna Niçoise, or Sliced Turkey) and a side.

Daily visits from a volunteer can provide vital social connection and interaction for our clients. For those we serve, the power of connection can bring joy, companionship, and a renewed sense of belonging, improving overall well-being and quality of life. Together, volunteers and clients can forge meaningful relationships that create a ripple effect of positivity and community support.

We have two options for delivery.

For clients within Albuquerque Metro, Corrales, or Rio Rancho:

We offer face-to-face deliveries within the Albuquerque Metro, Corrales, and Rio Rancho areas. Meals are delivered between 10:30am - 1:00pm, Monday – Friday by a friendly volunteer. You can choose as many or as few delivery days as you’d like. The volunteer drops off the meal, provides a friendly face, and a quick wellness check. This provides peace of mind for families and emotional support for the client.

For clients outside Albuquerque Metro, Corrales, or Rio Rancho:

We offer weekly frozen meal delivery directly to your door through overnight shipping. Shipping costs may apply.

We work with any budget and have no age, income, or health requirements for program qualification. We work on a sliding scale based on gross monthly income and meal type (hot or frozen).

Lunch meals: Variable based on gross monthly income. Current pricing ranges from FREE to $13.30 per meal.

Breakfast and/or dinner: $3.70/meal. Clients requesting breakfast and/or dinner must also receive hot lunches to qualify.

Service begins with a non-refundable administration fee of no more than $25 (variable depending on income). After initial payment, clients are placed on autopay and invoiced at the end of each month for meals they have received.

Thanks to the generosity of the community, we are able to provide varying subsidies for many clients through our Meal Delivery program. Approximately 85% of our clients receive free or reduced cost meals. This program is community supported and allows us to provide free or subsidized meals to those who may need financial assistance. • Citrus
  • Coconut
  • Chile: Red or Green (does not include items like Texas Style Chili, or other bean-based chilis)

DISCLAIMER: Meals on Wheels New Mexico makes every attempt to identify and exclude ingredients that may cause allergic reactions for those with food allergies, however, there is always a risk of cross-contamination. There is also a possibility that manufacturers of the commercial foods we use could change their formulation at any time, without notice. Although we will take every precaution to avoid sending the items you have specified, no guarantee can be made and customers concerned with food allergies need to be aware of this risk.
