Volunteers deliver the news.

Did you know that your support provides free newspapers for Meals on Wheels clients? For your neighbor Glenn*, these papers help him feel connected. Glenn has limited mobility and often can’t go to in-person events. These newspapers remind Glenn that he is still an important part of the community.

Clients who receive copies of The Albuquerque Journal with their meals have another way to connect outside of their homes. Many seniors have limited digital access or are homebound. This makes newspapers for clients an important part of daily social connection. Newspapers have even been shown to prevent negative changes in the health-related behavior of seniors. ¹

The MOWNM clients you support agree! In 2022, 79% of clients agreed that newspapers make them feel more connected to the community. Over 80% said they would not receive a newspaper if your donations did not help provide one. Thank you for keeping seniors like Glenn involved in our community—one paper at a time.
